Mary Jane Thompson was born 22 Mar 1829, and christened on 29 Mar 1829, in Fiskerton, Lincolnshire (that is, Lincoln county), England, which I have confirmed.

On 21 Oct 1847, Mary Jane Thompson married Charles Allen in Washingborough, Lincolnshire. See the Allen page for information about this family. The photo shows the only photo I have of Mary Jane Thompson Allen, taken in 1910. She is on the right, holding baby Allen Skolds. Seated on the left is Elizabeth Allen Clark Olson, and standing is Helen Clark Skolds. Peeking out of the window is Thomas Olson.

Mary Jane Thompson has quite a few Thompsons in her lineage. Her parents were Thomas Thompson and Elizabeth Cave:

• Thomas Thompson’s parents were William Thompson and Jane Thompson.
  • William Thompson’s parents were John Thompson and Ann Clay.
  • Jane Thompson’s parents were Thomas Thompson and Elizabeth (?).
• Elizabeth Cave’s parents were William Cave and Mary Smith.
  • William Cave’s parents were William Cave and Sarah Donson.

With such a common name as Thompson and so many of them in the area, it is going to take a lot of time to research how they all fit together and which ones are the Thompsons that we are interested in. That may have to wait until retirement time (can’t come soon enough for me!).
